Flash Music Games

•April 16, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Just ran across these 2 really neat browser games that involve making music. You can find them here. The first game, Virtual Drumset, is exactly that, a full drum kit on your computer screen which can make all of the noises that a drum kit makes very well. The only problem is that there is a slight delay between when you press the button and when it plays the beat. The second game, Sound Mixer, replicates a mixing board and has several elements you can stream. There are a variety of loops including bass loops, drum loops, and two sets of synthesizer loops. Most of these loops are very high quality and are usually on beat, however, it’s fun to try and figure out which loops to use with which.

Geek Horror Story
Thinking if I should take the time to get a full website…Like “mosenmori.com”. Also, I’m wondering where I would get my hosting. I’m saying to go with GoDaddy or 1and1 for awhile until I feel I should get a better one. I think I’d probably do what Chris24 did and use the Grid Server from Media Temple. It’s $20 a month and I easily make that off of my shows. And yes I do realize that the toon doesn’t go with the post exactly, but it still was pretty funny.

Browser Games…

•April 14, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Browser games are basically simple games designed to run on a cheap computer, be quick to get in to, be fairly enjoyable, and make a great time waster for when you’re really bored.

  • Maddness Interactive: Based of of Krinkel’s animated series distributed over the internet, take part in some awesome fights using a variety of weapons
  • Stick RPG Complete: A great role playing game with tons of minigames, it really hits the spot for RPG fans and just general browser gamers.
  • Fishy: Simple, fun, and it never gets old, just what you want in a browser game.

Just a few of them, look for more of my favourites in future posts. By the way, I had to restrain myself from playing them so I could work on this post…

Halo 3 Beta Confirmed

Yes! The Halo 3 Beta has been confirmed for a release on May 16th at 5 AM. Now, personally I was hoping to get the Beta a little bit sooner, but frankly, it’s only about one month away, so I think I can wait. Hope you were lucky enough to get in, or buy Crackdown (which on it’s own is still a great game). The press release from Microsoft is right here; and I hope Microsoft isn’t having late April fools day!

Note: Also, if anyone is wanting to see what the whole HUD and new system looks like, Team Xbox has some screenshots right here.

While they aren’t all that great, it was actually really fun trying to make them-even if it didn’t take that long.

Twitter Adicts

Are You a Twitter Ninja?
Hope I never have to be adicted to Twitter; Why? Because it’s a disease! People update their twitter every ten seconds, and being able to update via txt message isn’t helping. I wonder how long it will take for someone to make a Rehabilitation clinic for Twitter adicts. Also, another cartoon:

The Real Reason Aliens Won't Contact Us

Found this pretty funny. It’s true though, I HATE DRM! And it isn’t because I’m a hacker…I Just want to be able to play CDs on my computer without having a root kit be installed. And to be able to take my songs I’ve purchased on iTunes and put them on some other music player…Or be able to transport them to another computer… Or maybe I want to take video of of my DVDs and put it onto iTunes so I can watch them on a video iPod…Either way, DRM is just a way of the man gettin’ us down!

Fanboys…Espescially with the PS3…

•April 8, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Today I found a post on youtube stating that the PS3 is the best and the Xbox 360 is for “fags”. I responded with this:

“Ahem…Have you considered the opposite? Now list some good EXCLUSIVE games that have been release for the PS3…Resistance: Fall of Man (REALLY SHORT)…Well, that’s about it. And don’t pull the crap about there being more games coming out, because the 360 will be making approximately 3 times as many good games for every good PS3 game. And I own both, so don’t waste your money on a cheap Blu-Ray player and a crappy game console, the fight is being fought for media types right now, and while it looks like Blu-Ray is winning, soon it will all be digital, so buy a Digital Box and get your HD movies in Pay Per View instead of wasting your money! I hate Fanboys…”

And sorry for the lack of recent posts…Got busy with stuff I guess…
